On October 30, eldiario.es Andaluc\u00eda presented the II ‘Gente de 10’ Awards at a gala where Gloria Brea Calvo was recognized. Dr. Brea is a professor at the Pablo de Olavide University and a researcher in the Cell Biology group at the CABD. The award ‘a scientist of 10 in cell biology’ recognizes her career researching rare mitochondrial diseases. Specifically coenzyme Q deficiency syndrome, which is suffered by 600 people in the world. Gloria comments that ‘the best award is helping families to have healthy children.<\/p>\n
