Genome Dynamics
Department Presentation
The Genome Dynamics Department aims to decipher the fundamental principles of life by combining functional genomics with developmental biology. Our research spans processes from early embryogenesis to tissue patterning, going from 3D chromatin regulation to transcriptional/translational dynamics. The research groups of the department employ cutting-edge approaches, including CRISPR genome editing, massively parallel sequencing and single-cell approaches, and quantitative imaging, and across a diverse array of animal models that represent all major vertebrate clades (fishes, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals). This interdisciplinary approach allows us to explore how gene regulatory networks and epigenetic memory drive cell fate decisions, linking genome regulation with developmental and evolutionary processes.
